Well I think some communication agencies tend to focus on thought leadership and syndicating content as it seems to be the natural progression from traditional marcomms. I'd like to see some examples of specialist agencies across all of the areas listed doing their part on a single campaign. Any in progress that we know about?

Also good point from Claire. I wonder what would happen if Facebook started consulting on how to run campaigns on Facebook?

Hi Mandi,
Thanks for your comments and for popping by. You are right I have missed some additional examples - could have included advertising agency / comms agency etc.

Specialising in communications you would obviously bring the understanding of how to communicate via different channels and understand the nuiances with social media which other agencies may not. How have you felt communications agencies have utilised the space in Australia? Are they ahead of the curve or are many of them still trying to use the channel as a push platform rather than engagement platform?

Cheers

The one agent you haven't detailed is the media itself. They need to be at the forefront of analysing, and applying this technology.

Gasp! You forgot communications agencies! (I work for an integrated comms agency in the digital department).
We also leave the crisis comms to the PR agencies but our focus is on creating engaging content and community management. And historically we're lovers of data so we like finding ways social media can enhance the CRM.
